SGVWA monitors activities affecting the transfer of water from the San Francisco/San Joaquin Bay Delta in Northern California given that it is a major source of replenishment supplies for the San Gabriel Valley. 

 

In 2020, Gov. Gavin Newsom ended the dual tunnel "Water Fix" project proposed by former Gov. Jerry Brown. Gov. Newsom opted to re-start the process for a single underground tunnel to distribute surplus Bay-Delta water supplies to farms and urban centers in the Bay Area, Central Valley and Southern California.
